Students continued to work on fractions today, with lessons on our new smartboard! We reviewed equivalent fractions and ordering and comparing fractions. Their homework tonight is a fraction worksheet, entitled " Find the Message." Advanced math students finished their unit test as well.
On Tuesday, we will continue to work with fractions, comparing and ordering them on a number line. The homework for Tuesday will be the back of the previous worksheet, "Number Line Decoder."
On Wednesday, we will not have math class due to a shortened schedule because of the cultural arts assembly and a science test that students will all take together. Enjoy a break from math, and be sure to thank your parents and the PTA for this program! Parents, ask your child about the assembly today. They should enjoy it!
Thursday, after checking the homework from Tuesday night and doing some warm-ups to review fractions, we will take a Blue Diamond assessment on factors, primes, GCF and LCM. We held off on this assessment to give some students who were struggling with these concepts a chance to practice before the assessment.
On Friday, of course, we will be on our field trip to Stone Mountain and to the Emerald Hollow gem mine, so there will be no math class and no homework! Yea!!!! Take a break and enjoy what we hope will be a beautiful weekend!
