There were no math classes held on Monday, so that students could continue doing activities related to the Renaissance Fair. Therefore, there was no math homework. Take a break!
On Tuesday, we continued our work with decimals. Regular math classes were assigned page 122 (26 -31). Third period math should add numbers 32 and 33 on that page also.
Advanced math classes should do workbook 3-5. On numbers 7-12, change exponents to negatives before writing the numbers in scientific notation.
On Wednesday, regular math classes will learn about scientific notation. Read pages 114-115 if you miss class on this day, then do Workbook 3-5 for homework. Advanced math classes will begin multiplying decimals, and do Workbook 3-6 for homework.
Thursday, we will continue working on multiplying decimals and scientific notation. Regular math classes should do page 116 (1-21) while advanced math students should do page 122 (1-6 and 10-19). It would be a good idea to do this multiplying on graph paper if you prefer.
After checking homework on Friday, we will do a worksheet on Scientific Notation in regular math classes, entitled "Puzzles, Twisters and Teasers." Advanced math students will begin dividing decimal numbers by whole numbers. Read pages 124-125 in the book. Then do page 125-126 (1-30) as homework.
On Monday, we will take a quiz on multiplying decimals and scientific notation. For homework, students should do the back of the "Puzzles, Twisters, and Teasers" in regular math classes, while advanced students will finish their quiz at home if necessary.
There will be no math classes on Tuesday, so that we may do some team activities to conclude our study of the Renaissance era, and students will take their science test.
Enjoy the winter break!!!!!! I will miss all of you!

Please excuse me for not updating the blog regulary this week. Due to surgery on my right arm last Friday, it has been difficult to type!
On Monday, we continued work on decimals. Regular math did page 104 (11-20) for homework and advanced did pages 94-95 (17-36).
On Tuesday, we worked on multiplying decimals in regular math classes and did Lesson 3-6 in the workbook for homework, problems 1-12. Advanced math classes are learning to write very large numbers and very small numbers in scientific notation. They should do page 116 (1-42) for homework.
All classes will have a test on comparing and ordering, adding and subtracting decimals on Thursday.
