Today, Regular math classes checked their homework, then worked on a review for their quiz tomorrow on changing fractions to decimals. For homework they will continue to work on this skill, on page 169 (12-27) in second period, and page 169 (12-19 and 28-33) in third period math.
Advanced math classes finished their quiz if they did not finish it on last Friday, then will do homework on Workbook Lesson 3-10. Classes were shortened today due t0 the Geography Bee held in the auditorium this afternoon. We are proud of all students who participated in this competition.
On Wednesday, regular math classes will take their quiz on changing fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. Third period will also have some decimal equations to solve. Homework tonight is on page 170 (45-50) and (54-61).
Advanced math classes will get their quizzes returned to take home to have signed. Please ask for these quizzes tonight. They will begin work on multiplying and dividing numbers with exponents, learning the exponent rules for these operations. They should complete the exponent worksheet on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, all classes will learn to write ratios. Read page 392-393 in the book. Second period should do page 394 (1-10) while third does page 394 (1-13). Advanced classes should do 6 - 24 on pages 394-395.
On Friday, we will learn to write and solve proportions. This is a very important skill that students can use to solve a variety of problems. We'll discuss page 398-399 in class, then they will do page 400 for homework. Second period should do (11-19), third should also do numbers 5 and 10 as well as 11-19, and advanced math should work problems 1-19.
