Today, we began learning about percentages. Students learned that a percent is simply an amount out of 100. We learned to change fractions and decimals to percents. Tonight, regular math students should read page 418-419, then do page 420 (1-14). Advanced math students should do problems 15-40 on that page.
All students should have their report cards signed and returned by tomorrow.
On Tuesday, all classes should do workbook 8-7.
Second and third period math classes should bring home their quizzes on proportions to be signed.
On Wednesday, we will practice writing decimals and fractions as percents some more. Students should read page 422-423 in their text, then do page 424 (1-9) in regular math classes. Advanced students should do problems 27-48. Sixth period math students should get their quizzes signed and returned.
Thursday, regular math students should do Workbook Lesson 8-8, and review for their quiz on proportions and percents on Friday. Advanced math students should do problems 49-59 on page 425. Remember to show all work on problems 49-54. Seventh period math classes should have their quizzes signed that night.
We will take our percentages quiz on Friday, after we check homework and review. Good luck to everyone!
